The Method
Over 40 years ago, Peg Hoenack began a legend in music education, revolutionizing how easily young children could learn to read and play music. With her Music for Young Children method of number and letter notation, preschool children can virtually teach themselves. An intuitive pitch and rhythm notation instills the basics of music, including reading with children that have not yet learned to read words. Starting with simple bell blocks, then advancing to song flute and recorder has given the start to many successful careers as professional musicians. Thousands of children have enjoyed the self-confidence of proficiency and a love for the joy of musical expression using her method, which meets or exceeds the National Standards.
